Susan A. Foster is owner and president of Thornapple Financial Center, as well as Co-Regional Director for the state of Michigan for Money Concepts. She has been doing business in Middleville since 1986. She is an Enrolled Agent (EA), a member of National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), and a member of the National Society of Accountants (NSA). Susan is a tax preparer, and accountant, and a financial planner. She has spent over 25 years helping people with their financial "picture." She has a passion for helping people attain their financial goals. She works with them so they can retire comfortably and to maintain their financial independence throughout their season of retirement. Susan is very active in the community and in her church, serving on various boards and committees. She is a member of the Middleville Rotary Club, where she is a past-president. Susan has been married to her husband, Ken, since 1980. They have four children who have all graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School. Her family now includes two sons-in-law and three grandchildren. Susan is very excited that her son, David, has joined her in the business and that they are able to service their clients as a team. John C. Anderson has been a small business owner for over 35 years. He is owner and president of MTC Business Services, Inc., as well as a partner here at Thornapple Financial Center. John has been a tax preparer since 1971. In 1995 he received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Davenport University, with a major in accounting. John does accounting for businesses, as well as tax preparation for businesses, trusts, and individual returns. In 1991, John became a Registered Representative with Money Concepts Capital Corporation as an independent broker. He felt that financial planning was an important part of is client's overall financial health. John believes every client's situation is different and since he is independent, he can offer his clients a wide range of products--not just a "one size fits all" answer. John is active in his church and with various projects. He is married to his wife, Sue; they have one daughter and one grandchild. David Foster was born and raised in Middleville. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in April of 2013 and joined the Thornapple Financial Center crew as a full-time employee that summer. He is an independent financial architect with Money Concepts, which allows him to design and build custom financial plans for his clients based on their needs and goals for retirement. Kurt D. Sytsma is the newest member to the team here at Thornapple Financial. After 30 years in the skilled trades industry, Kurt decided to go back to school, becoming fully licensed as a Financial Advisor. Kurt holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as being licensed to sell Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and Annuities in the state of Michigan. Kurt is certified to sell Health Insurance through the Marketplace, established by the Affordable Care Act. Kurt joined the Money Concepts team in order to make a difference in people's financial future. He recognized over his years in the skilled trades industry that the average American is widely under-advised when it comes to the financial industry. Kurt has no "minimum client" level, as is popular among so many firms now days. He hopes to help people in all stages of their financial journey, whether that is young people just starting out or seasoned veterans getting ready to retire or already retired. His goal is to help you make your financial dreams and goals a reality. Beth Berkimer joined Thornapple Financial Center as our full-time accountant in July of 2001. Beth works primarily with QuickBooks software for our clients' accounting needs. Beth is a QuickBooks Pro-Advisor. She prepares financial statements, balances checkbooks, prepares payrolls, and all of the related tax returns for payroll. She also prepares personal-property tax forms and checks the corporate tax returns prepared by Susan and John. Beth works closely with all our tax preparers for tax and financial planning issues that affect our accounting clients. Beth has been married to her husband, John, since 1908; they have four children (all of whom are married) and five grandchildren. All of Beth's children graduated from Thornapple Kellogg Schools. She is active in her church and serves on various committees.
Kris Foote has been with Thornapple Financial Center since January of 1997. She is one of our tax preparers, as well as the administrative assistant to John Anderson and the Money Concepts regional representatives. Kris attends continuing education for taxes, as well as compliance and marketing meetings, to better help John and the rest of the reps in the state of Michigan. Kris grew up in the Caledonia area, but has called Middleville home since 1987. When away from the office, family and church activities keep her busy.
Renee Baareman was welcomed to the staff of TFC in December 2011. Renee is Susan Foster's administrative assistant. She attends marketing and compliance meetings annually to stay current with the ever-changing financial industry landscape. Her artistic ability, creativeness, and inspiration is on display around the office and evidenced at events. Renee grew up in the Wayland area and has been married to Tony for over 20 years. She is very active with her family, friend, church, and community.
Michael Raber began his tax preparation career in 2010 as his retirement job. During this time he worked for Liberty Tax Service and Diann Davis Accounting. Mike Joined Thornapple Financial Center’s team in January of 2016 as a tax preparer. Mike participates in the Internal Revenue Service’s Annual Filing Season Program and is preparing to become an enrolled agent.
Naomi Younglove began her journey with Thornapple Financial Center in August of 2015. When you call our office, hers is the first voice you will hear. Naomi and her husband Sam have been married 34 years. They have four children and 5 grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys crafting and singing , and is active in her church .
